LGND CyanoEX Liquid™

CyanoEX Liquid™ is a liquid treatment intended for the control of cyanobacteria in freshwater and marine aquariums. It is formulated for precise volume-based dosing and controlled application.

CyanoEX Liquid® is a liquid treatment intended for the control of red, black, and blue-green cyanobacteria (commonly referred to as "red slime"). It may also assist with reduction of organic sludge and improvement of water clarity.

When used as directed, CyanoEX Liquid™ provides targeted reduction of cyanobacterial growth without requiring system shutdown.

Available volumes: 100 mL.

Use CyanoEX Liquid™ when cyanobacteria forms persistent films or mats on substrate, rockwork, décor, or glass. The tabs below illustrate typical coverage levels and recommended treatment approaches.

Mild infestation

Typically presents as a thin film or small localized patches, often limited to low-flow zones.

Recommended dose: 3 mL per 60 L (16 US gal)
Do not exceed the recommended dose.

If cyanobacteria is only present in small areas, consider using the Fog method (spot dosing) for targeted treatment. If it persists, re-dose after 72 hours and address root causes (flow, nutrients, detritus).

Moderate-heavy infestation

Typically presents as thick mats, broad coverage, or recurrent outbreaks that return after manual removal.

Recommended dose: 3 mL per 60 L (16 US gal)
Maintain strong aeration and circulation during treatment.

Re-dose after 72 hours if required. Correct underlying causes to prevent recurrence.

Fog method (spot dosing)

The fogging method is a targeted measure to combat cyanobacteria with spot dosing. A liquid substance harmful to cyanobacteria is applied to the affected areas using a disposable syringe. A blunt needle is advisable in case of an infestation in the substrate.

When to use: Mild infestation, localized areas only (small radius).
Targeted application reduces unnecessary exposure of the full system.

How to apply:

1. Turn off filters or pumps to minimize water flow during application.
2. Fill a disposable syringe with the required amount of CyanoEX Liquid™.
3. Apply slowly and precisely onto affected areas (use a blunt needle for substrate if needed).
4. Allow a few minutes of contact time at the treated location.
5. Restart technical devices after exposure time.

If necessary, repeat after 72 hours and correct underlying causes (dead spots, detritus buildup, excess nutrients).

1. Remove chemical filtration media (such as activated carbon) prior to treatment.
2. Shake bottle gently before use.
3. Measure the required amount of CyanoEX Liquid™ using a syringe, pipette, or graduated measuring cup.
4. Pre-dilute the measured dose in a small volume of aquarium water (recommended for even distribution).
5. Distribute evenly throughout the aquarium, preferably into an area of active water flow.
6. Maintain normal circulation and aeration during treatment.

If necessary, repeat treatment after 72 hours.
