Legend Atlas™ CO2 Diffuser External is a professional inline CO2 atomizer designed to maximize carbon dioxide dissolution efficiency in planted aquariums. Installed directly in the filter return line, Atlas™ produces an ultra-fine mist of microbubbles that remains suspended in the water column for longer periods, increasing contact time and improving CO2 absorption by aquatic plants.
Unlike traditional in-tank diffusers, Atlas™ operates externally, preserving the natural appearance of the aquarium while delivering consistent CO2 distribution throughout the entire system. The precision ceramic diffusion element creates exceptionally small bubbles that dissolve more effectively than larger bubbles, helping reduce CO2 waste and improve overall system efficiency.
By integrating directly into the filtration circuit, Atlas™ benefits from the water flow generated by the external filter, ensuring even circulation of dissolved carbon dioxide to all areas of the aquarium. Directions
Install Atlas™ on the outlet hose of the external filter in a vertical position whenever possible. Ensure that water flow follows the direction of the filter return and that all hose connections are securely fitted before operation.
Connect the CO2 tubing from the regulator to the integrated CO2 inlet and gradually increase CO2 flow until the desired concentration is achieved. For optimal performance, begin with a conservative CO2 dosage and adjust gradually while monitoring aquarium inhabitants and CO2 levels using an appropriate indicator or drop checker.
Following initial installation, small amounts of trapped air may remain inside the diffuser chamber. This is normal and will usually dissipate during the first few hours of operation. The ceramic diffusion element may require a short break-in period before reaching maximum atomization efficiency.
Periodic cleaning is recommended to maintain optimal performance. If algae or mineral deposits accumulate on the ceramic membrane, remove the diffuser from service and clean the ceramic component using an appropriate aquarium-safe cleaning solution. Rinse thoroughly before reinstalling.

Cleaning
Over time, algae growth, mineral deposits, and organic residues may accumulate on the ceramic membrane and reduce atomization efficiency. Signs that cleaning may be required include increased bubble size, reduced diffusion performance, or visible discoloration of the ceramic element.
Remove the ceramic component from the atomizer and immerse it in a solution consisting of equal parts chlorine bleach and water. Allow the ceramic membrane to soak until deposits have completely dissolved. Depending on the severity of contamination, this process may require anywhere from one to four hours.
After soaking, rinse the component thoroughly under clean water and allow any remaining chlorine residue to dissipate completely before reinstallation. Once cleaned, the ceramic membrane will typically return to near-original performance and appearance.
Regular maintenance helps maintain optimal diffusion efficiency and extends the operational lifespan of the atomizer.
