Legend Flux™ In Line Atomizer is a high-efficiency external CO2 diffusion system engineered for aquarists seeking maximum carbon dioxide dissolution with minimal visual impact inside the aquarium. Installed directly on the return line of an external filter, Flux™ injects CO2 into the water stream outside the aquarium, eliminating the need for traditional internal diffusers and preserving the natural appearance of planted aquascapes.

At the heart of the system is a precision ceramic diffusion membrane that atomizes carbon dioxide into an exceptionally fine mist of microbubbles. The extremely small bubble size significantly increases the contact surface area between CO2 and water, allowing more efficient dissolution and improved distribution throughout the aquarium. The result is greater carbon dioxide utilization, enhanced plant growth, stronger coloration, and improved photosynthetic activity.

The slim-profile design allows Flux™ to integrate discreetly into virtually any external filtration system while maintaining unrestricted water flow. The robust aluminium body provides long-term durability and resistance to daily wear, while the serviceable ceramic membrane can be removed for maintenance, ensuring consistent performance over extended periods of operation.

Because CO2 is diffused directly into the filter return stream, dissolved carbon dioxide is distributed more evenly throughout the aquarium compared to many traditional in-tank diffusion methods. This makes Flux™ particularly suitable for densely planted aquariums, nature aquariums, Dutch-style aquascapes, and other high-demand planted systems where stable CO2 delivery is essential.

For optimal atomization performance, Flux™ is designed for use with pressurized CO2 systems operating at a minimum working pressure of 2 bar and should always be connected using high-pressure CO2-resistant tubing.

Directions

Install Legend Flux™ In Line Atomizer on the outlet hose of the external filter, ensuring that the water flow direction follows the intended path through the atomizer body. Select the model corresponding to the filter hose size and ensure all hose connections are firmly secured before operation.

Connect the CO2 tubing from the regulator to the dedicated CO2 inlet and gradually introduce carbon dioxide into the system. The atomizer is designed to operate with pressurized CO2 equipment and requires a minimum working pressure of approximately 2 bar to achieve proper diffusion through the ceramic membrane.

Following installation, allow a short conditioning period for the ceramic membrane to become fully saturated. During this time, atomization efficiency will gradually improve until a stable microbubble output is achieved.

CO2 levels should be adjusted gradually and monitored using an appropriate drop checker or CO2 indicator. The required bubble rate will vary depending on aquarium volume, plant density, water circulation, and surface agitation.

To maintain peak performance, inspect the ceramic membrane periodically. Reduced diffusion efficiency, larger bubbles, or visible deposits on the membrane may indicate that cleaning is required. Regular maintenance will ensure consistent atomization and long-term reliability.

Cleaning

Over time, algae growth, mineral deposits, and organic residues may accumulate on the ceramic membrane and reduce atomization efficiency. Signs that cleaning may be required include increased bubble size, reduced diffusion performance, or visible discoloration of the ceramic element.

Remove the ceramic component from the atomizer and immerse it in a solution consisting of equal parts chlorine bleach and water. Allow the ceramic membrane to soak until deposits have completely dissolved. Depending on the severity of contamination, this process may require anywhere from one to four hours.

After soaking, rinse the component thoroughly under clean water and allow any remaining chlorine residue to dissipate completely before reinstallation. Once cleaned, the ceramic membrane will typically return to near-original performance and appearance.

Regular maintenance helps maintain optimal diffusion efficiency and extends the operational lifespan of the atomizer.
