In an aquascape or in a planted tank, algae are less likely to become a problem, as they are kept in check by their natural competition – well-growing, healthy aquatic plants.
However, from time to time algae may still get the upper hand. Be it green algae, brush algae, beard algae or blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) , each type can become a pest in the aquarium. Thus, easy solutions that keep frustration levels as low as possible are an important factor for planted tank keepers or aquascapers. Basically, algae remedies should not hurt the plants and of course the animals in a tank.
The prerequisite that the algae remedy must not do any damage to the water plants limits the range of cures that can be used. In our shop you will only find products that are proven not to do any harm to aquatic plants or to do only such limited harm that they can still be used in a planted tank or an aquascape. The algae remedies we offer here can also be used in tanks with invertebrates like shrimps or crayfish.
