Overview
Balance KH+™ is a concentrated carbonate hardness supplement formulated to increase and maintain alkalinity in freshwater aquariums. Carbonate hardness (KH) plays a fundamental role in stabilizing pH and preventing sudden fluctuations that can stress fish, shrimp, and aquatic plants.
When using reverse osmosis water, deionized water, rainwater, or naturally soft source water, carbonate hardness is often insufficient to provide the buffering capacity required for long-term aquarium stability. Balance KH+™ restores essential bicarbonate and potassium ions, allowing aquarists to create predictable water conditions tailored to the needs of their livestock.
Balance KH+™ is particularly beneficial for Neocaridina shrimp and other species that thrive in stable, moderately alkaline environments. By increasing buffering capacity without significantly affecting general hardness (GH), Balance KH+™ allows independent control of carbonate hardness and pH stability.
In addition to supporting shrimp health and successful breeding, proper KH levels improve biological filtration performance and help maintain a stable environment for aquatic plants and beneficial bacteria.

Directions
Shake well before use.
Add 5 mL for every 40 L (10 US gallons) of aquarium water. Each dose increases carbonate hardness by approximately 1 dKH (0.36 meq/L).
For reverse osmosis or deionized water, add gradually while monitoring KH until the desired level is achieved. Changes should be made slowly, particularly in shrimp aquariums, to avoid sudden fluctuations in water chemistry.
For best results, use together with an appropriate GH remineralizer when preparing RO or DI water.
