Overview
Freshwater mussels are natural filter feeders that obtain their nutrition by continuously extracting microscopic organisms, algae, bacteria and suspended organic particles from the surrounding water. In modern aquariums, efficient mechanical and biological filtration removes much of this naturally available food, making it difficult for freshwater mussels to receive adequate daily nutrition.
LGND Mussel™ Liquid has been specifically developed to provide a continuous source of ultra-fine suspended nutrition for freshwater mussels and other filter-feeding invertebrates. Its micronised liquid suspension remains dispersed throughout the water column, allowing microscopic food particles to circulate naturally and become available to the mussels' filtration system.
Formulated with high-quality marine proteins, nutrient-rich microalgae and carefully selected natural ingredients, LGND Mussel™ Liquid supports natural feeding behaviour, healthy growth, tissue maintenance and long-term vitality. Directions
Shake well before use.
Dose 2–3 drops per 30 litres (8 US gallons) of aquarium water once daily.
Distribute the food into an area with gentle water movement to allow even circulation throughout the aquarium.
Feed consistently as freshwater mussels naturally require continuous access to suspended food particles.
Avoid excessive dosing.

Complementary feed for freshwater mussels and filter-feeding invertebrates.
Composition: Water, Shrimp Meal, Krill Meal, Spirulina (Spirulina platensis), Chlorella (Chlorella pyrenoidosa), Brewer's Yeast, Whole Egg Powder, Maltodextrin, Sunflower Lecithin.
Nutritional Additives per litre: Vitamin C 2,000 mg, Vitamin E 500 mg.
Naturally occurring nutrients per litre: Vitamin A (β-Carotene) 2,331 µg, Vitamin B2 0.23 mg, Vitamin B9 16.2 µg, Iron 15.3 mg, Magnesium 106.8 mg.
Naturally rich in: Marine proteins, essential amino acids, chlorophyll, phycocyanin, carotenoids and natural antioxidants.
FAQ
Is LGND Mussel™ Liquid suitable for all freshwater mussels?
Yes. It is formulated for freshwater mussels and other freshwater filter-feeding bivalves commonly kept in aquariums.
Can it be used every day?
Yes. Daily feeding is recommended to provide a consistent supply of suspended nutrients.
Will fish also consume it?
Some fish and shrimp may consume part of the suspension. This is completely normal and does not affect the suitability of the product.
Does it cloud the water?
The micronised particles create a temporary suspension similar to naturally occurring organic matter. When dosed correctly, the aquarium filtration system will maintain water clarity.
Can it be used together with other LGND Liquid Nutrition products?
Yes. It complements the LGND Liquid Nutrition range and can be used alongside foods formulated for fish, shrimp and snails.
