Directions ›
  1. Check the air pump, power cable and supplied accessories for damage before installation.
  2. Position the pump outside the aquarium and above the maximum water level.
  3. Place it on a stable, dry and level surface where it cannot fall or move into the water.
  4. Cut the air hose to the required length.
  5. Connect one end of the hose to the pump outlet and the other end to an air stone, sponge filter or compatible air-driven accessory.
  6. For the Q‑28 and Q‑48, connect an accessory to each outlet. If only one accessory is used, combine the outlets with a suitable T-connector.
  7. Position the air stone or accessory inside the aquarium.
  8. Create a drip loop in the power cable below the electrical socket.
  9. Connect the plug to the mains supply to start the pump.
  10. Check that air is flowing correctly and adjust the bubble pattern using an inline airflow control valve if required.

Do not operate an outlet without a connected hose and suitable air-driven accessory.

FAQ ›
What is the difference between the three models?

The main differences are power, airflow and the number of air outlets:

  • Q‑18: 3 W, one outlet, 1.5 L/min.
  • Q‑28: 6 W, two outlets, 2 L/min per outlet.
  • Q‑48: 8 W, two outlets, 3 L/min per outlet.
Can these pumps be submerged?

No. All three models are designed for external, dry installation only.

Can the pump operate continuously?

Yes. The Aeris Q‑18, Q‑28 and Q‑48 are mains-powered pumps designed for continuous aquarium aeration.

Can I place the pump below the water level?

Installation above the water level is recommended. If this is not possible, fit a reliable non-return valve to every air hose to help prevent water from flowing back into the pump.

Can I use only one outlet on the Q‑28 or Q‑48?

Use a suitable T-connector to combine both outlets when operating a single accessory. Do not leave an air outlet open and unloaded.

Can the pump operate a sponge filter?

Yes, provided the selected model supplies sufficient airflow for the size and resistance of the filter.

Why has the airflow decreased?

Check the air hose for bends, compression, leaks or blockages. Also inspect the air stone, sponge filter and pump air intake for dirt or obstruction.

Why is the pump making more noise?

Confirm that it is standing on a stable, level surface and that its vibration-dampening feet are clean and correctly positioned. Make sure the pump is not touching the aquarium, cabinet wall or another object.
