Overview
LGND Aquario River Glass Lily Pipe™ is a premium handcrafted glass inflow and outflow system designed to maximise filtration efficiency while preserving the natural beauty of planted aquariums and aquascapes. Manufactured from laboratory-grade borosilicate glass, each component is individually hand-blown to deliver exceptional optical clarity, elegant appearance, and reliable long-term performance.
Unlike conventional plastic pipes that distract from the visual impact of an aquascape, Aquario River Glass Lily Pipes blend almost invisibly into the aquarium environment. Their crystal-clear appearance allows aquatic plants, hardscape, and livestock to remain the focal point of the display while maintaining effective water circulation and filtration.
The carefully engineered inflow pipe features precision-cut intake slots that promote efficient water collection while maintaining smooth flow into the filtration system. The design supports stable circulation throughout the aquarium and can be paired with a compatible intake guard when additional protection for shrimp, fry, or delicate livestock is desired.
The signature River outflow creates a broad, gentle current that distributes nutrients, fertilisers, and dissolved CO2 throughout the aquarium while minimizing excessive surface disturbance. Unlike aggressive spray bars or powerheads, the River design maintains effective circulation without driving excessive carbon dioxide from the water column, making it particularly suitable for planted aquarium environments.
The integrated surface skimming function helps reduce biofilm and surface scum while maintaining excellent gas exchange and water clarity. Combining artisan craftsmanship, advanced hydraulic design, and exceptional visual elegance, LGND Aquario River Glass Lily Pipe Set™ is an ideal choice for aquascapers seeking both performance and aesthetics.
Directions
Install the inflow and outflow pipes onto compatible filter tubing and secure them to the aquarium glass using the supplied suction cups. Position the inflow pipe in an area that allows unrestricted water intake while ensuring that plants, hardscape, and decorations do not obstruct the intake slots.
The outflow pipe should be positioned slightly below the water surface to create a broad circulation pattern throughout the aquarium. Small adjustments in height and angle may be used to fine-tune water movement according to the needs of the aquarium.
For planted aquariums utilizing pressurized CO2 systems, position the outflow to promote circulation without creating excessive surface agitation. This helps retain dissolved carbon dioxide while ensuring adequate oxygen exchange.
If additional surface film removal is desired, the outflow may be raised slightly to increase surface movement. Following installation, monitor flow patterns and adjust positioning as necessary to eliminate dead spots and achieve even distribution throughout the aquarium.

Maintenance
Regular cleaning is essential to maintain optimal flow performance and preserve the crystal-clear appearance of the glass. Over time, algae, mineral deposits, biofilm, and organic residues may accumulate on the internal and external surfaces of the pipes.
For routine maintenance, remove the lily pipes carefully from the aquarium and rinse with clean water. Internal pipe brushes specifically designed for aquarium glassware may be used to remove accumulated deposits from narrow sections.
For heavier contamination, the glass components may be soaked in a diluted chlorine bleach solution until algae and stains have dissolved completely. Following cleaning, rinse thoroughly and neutralise any remaining chlorine before returning the equipment to service.
Inspect suction cups periodically and replace them if they show signs of hardening, deformation, or reduced holding strength.
FAQ
Why use glass lily pipes instead of plastic pipes?
Glass lily pipes are significantly less visible inside the aquarium, allowing the aquascape to remain the centre of attention. Their smooth internal surfaces also promote efficient water flow and are easier to keep visually clean.
What is borosilicate glass?
Borosilicate glass is a premium laboratory-grade glass known for its excellent clarity, chemical resistance, and superior strength compared to standard glass.
Does the River outflow reduce CO2 loss?
Yes. The River outflow is designed to create broad circulation while minimizing excessive surface agitation, helping retain dissolved CO2 within planted aquariums.
Can the lily pipes be used with shrimp aquariums?
Yes. The inflow can be paired with a suitable intake guard to help protect shrimp, fry, and other small aquarium inhabitants.
Why does a surface vortex sometimes form?
In newly established aquariums with sufficient filtration flow, a small surface vortex may occasionally develop near the outflow. This can assist with surface film removal and improve water clarity.
Are all pieces identical?
Each lily pipe is individually hand-blown. Minor variations in dimensions and shape are normal and reflect the handcrafted nature of the product.
Safety
Handle all glass components carefully during installation, maintenance, and cleaning. Although borosilicate glass is stronger than conventional glass, excessive force, impacts, twisting, dropping, or rapid temperature changes may cause breakage. Keep out of reach of children.
Inspect all glassware before use. Do not install damaged, chipped, or cracked components. When connecting filter tubing, soften tubing if necessary and avoid excessive force that may place stress on the glass. Supporting the glass while attaching tubing can help reduce the risk of breakage.
Use caution when cleaning and handling wet glass surfaces, as they may become slippery. If breakage occurs, remove all fragments immediately and dispose of broken glass safely according to local regulations. Use only for aquarium filtration applications.
