Overview

LGND Outflow Aquario River Glass™ is a handcrafted borosilicate glass outflow pipe designed to create smooth, natural water circulation in planted aquariums while preserving the clean, minimalist appearance demanded by modern aquascaping. Inspired by the gentle movement of natural rivers and streams, the unique flared outlet design produces a wide, dispersed flow pattern that distributes water evenly throughout the aquarium without creating excessive turbulence.

Unlike conventional spray bars or directional nozzles, the River Glass™ design creates a soft current that helps transport nutrients, trace elements, and dissolved carbon dioxide throughout the aquarium while maintaining a stable environment for aquatic plants and livestock. The carefully angled outlet promotes subtle surface movement, improving oxygen exchange while minimizing unnecessary CO2 loss, making it particularly suitable for planted aquarium systems.

Manufactured from premium laboratory-grade borosilicate glass, each piece is individually hand-blown to achieve exceptional transparency and elegant aesthetics. Once installed, the outflow becomes nearly invisible inside the aquarium, allowing the aquascape itself to remain the focal point of the display.

The signature River-style outlet is designed to provide balanced circulation across a broad area of the aquarium. Whether used in a nature aquarium, Dutch-style aquarium, shrimp aquarium, or professional aquascape, LGND Outflow Aquario River Glass™ combines functionality, elegance, and refined craftsmanship in a single piece of equipment.

Directions
Aquario River Outflow installed

Connect the outflow pipe to compatible filter tubing and secure it to the aquarium glass using the supplied transparent suction cups. Position the outflow slightly below the water surface to achieve gentle circulation throughout the aquarium.

LGND Outflow Aquario River Glass™ should be aimed to create broad water movement across the aquarium rather than concentrated directional flow. Small adjustments in height and angle may be used to optimize circulation according to aquarium dimensions, hardscape layout, and plant density.

For planted aquariums utilizing pressurized CO2 systems, position the outlet so that water movement remains gentle while maintaining effective circulation throughout the aquarium. This helps maximize CO2 retention while ensuring healthy oxygen exchange.

If surface biofilm or organic scum develops, the outflow can be raised slightly closer to the surface. Monitor circulation patterns after installation and make adjustments as required to ensure even water movement throughout the aquarium.

Maintenance
Aquario River Outflow maintenance

To maintain optimal flow performance and preserve the crystal-clear appearance of the glass, regular cleaning is recommended. Over time, algae, biofilm, mineral deposits, and organic residues may accumulate on the glass surfaces and gradually reduce flow efficiency.

Remove the outflow pipe carefully from the aquarium and rinse with clean water. For routine cleaning, an aquarium pipe brush may be used to remove internal deposits. When heavier contamination is present, the glassware may be soaked in a diluted chlorine-based cleaning solution.

Prepare a solution consisting of equal parts water and unscented household chlorine bleach. Fully submerge the glassware and allow it to soak for one to four hours depending on the level of contamination. Once cleaning is complete, rinse thoroughly and ensure that all cleaning residues have been removed before reinstalling the equipment.

FAQ
What is the advantage of a River-style outflow?

The River-style outlet creates a wide and gentle flow pattern that distributes water more evenly throughout the aquarium compared to traditional directional outlets. This improves circulation while maintaining a calm environment for plants and livestock.

Does the outflow increase oxygen exchange?

Yes. The slight upward orientation of the outlet promotes gentle surface movement, improving oxygen transfer while maintaining good CO2 retention for planted aquariums.

Can it help remove surface scum?

Yes. By positioning the outlet slightly closer to the water surface, increased surface agitation can help reduce biofilm and organic surface films.

Why use borosilicate glass?

Borosilicate glass provides exceptional clarity, chemical resistance, and durability. It is commonly used in laboratory equipment due to its superior strength and thermal stability compared to ordinary glass.

Is every pipe identical?

No. Because each piece is individually hand-blown, minor variations in dimensions and shape may occur. These differences are normal and reflect the handcrafted nature of the product.

Can the outflow be used with shrimp aquariums?

Yes. The gentle flow characteristics make it suitable for shrimp aquariums and planted tanks where excessive water movement is undesirable.

Safety

Handle all glass components carefully during installation, cleaning, and maintenance. Although borosilicate glass is stronger than conventional glass, it remains a glass product and may break if dropped, struck, twisted, or subjected to excessive force. Keep out of reach of children.

Inspect the glassware before installation. Do not use chipped, cracked, or otherwise damaged components. When connecting filter tubing, support the glass adequately and avoid excessive force. Soft silicone tubing is recommended to reduce stress on the glass connections.

Avoid sudden temperature changes, which may place unnecessary stress on the glass material. Use only aquarium-safe cleaning methods and ensure that all cleaning agents are completely removed before returning the glassware to service. If breakage occurs, carefully remove all fragments from the aquarium and dispose of broken glass according to local regulations.
